Dec 6-8  - Weekend of SCD in Curia, Portugal

I am most happy to share details of our 6th SCD Weekend in beautiful Curia.
Our teacher this year is RAPHAËLLE ORGERET of Lyon, France.
Our musicians are
Muriel Johnstone on piano and Ian Robertson on fiddle. 

We are almost fully booked for 2019 but you can take advantage of the early-bird fee for Curia 2020 (offer good until end of November 2019). Curia 2020 is 4-6 December 2020.

Curia is in the Bairrada region of Portugal, a popular wine-growing district also known for its delicious gastronomy and beautiful landscapes. We can also suggest tourist/cultural programmes and places to visit.

Our Happy Dancing Bus - a collective transfer - will take you from Lisbon Airport to Curia on Friday morning and back to Lisbon on Sunday afternoon.

Dec 7  - RSCDS Hamilton Christmas Dance 

Enjoy a light meal while mingling with friends, then dance to the live music of Laird & Dan.

Doors open at 7:00pm and the event is from 8:00 to 11:00pm

Our traditional Burns Programme celebrating the life and works of the Scottish Bard,

2020: Saturday, Feb 8 - The Ardbrae Ball, Ottawa 

The Ardbrae Scottish Country Dancers of Ottawa invite you to their Catered Buffet and Ball at the Glebe Community Centre.We shall dance to the music of Torridon Scottish Country Dance Band. 

Pot-luck brunch on Sunday.

RSCDS Lyon invites you to a weekend school taught by MATHIAS FERBER and RAMONA RANK.

There will be 2 separate classes: advanced and intermediate.

There will also be a highland and a children's workshop!

2020: April 28 - May 3: SpringFling2020 in St Petersburg ~~~ May 15 - 17:  SpringFling2020 in Toronto

Each year the Society mounts a special Spring Fling festival for young dancers (12-35),
typically in some exotic location worldwide (e.g., London, Bonn, Glasgow, Paris...).

In 2020, Spring Fling is spreading it’s wings — it will be in TWO exotic locations:
Toronto and St Petersburg, Russia.

2020: July 5-11 - Blue Ridge Scottish Dance School 

The Blue Ridge Scottish Dance School is a new adventure in Scottish Country Dancing: 
BRSDS debuts July 5-11, 2020 on the campus of Appalachian State University.  Come spend a week or partial week in the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina learning Scottish Country Dancing while connecting with new friends or reuniting with old ones.

Offerings include daily classes in skilled and social levels, afternoon bonus classes in topics of interest, evening dances, and the Grandfather Mountain Gala to finish the week.  Grab your ghillies and join the fun!

2020: Sept 20-28 - Touristing, followed by Dance Weekend in Buenos Aires, Argentina 

Buenos Aires Scottish Dancers (BASCD) are waiting to welcome you to Buenos Aires - the home of Tango, Evita, Malbec & Mate!

The International Branch is spreading its wings and we want you to share this exciting opportunity with us and join us where Scottish Dancing meets Tango!

The Tourist Programme starts the afternoon of Sunday 20th September 2020, and is followed by a Dance Weekend from Friday 25 Sept to 28.

Both the hotel and dance venue are in the heart of the city and the venue for both dances and classes is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel.

Registration is now open to IB members; non-members from 1st July 2019.

The BASCD dancers are looking forward to meeting and dancing with IB members in Buenos Aires.

2020: Saturday, Nov 7 - 100 years of Dancing in the Waterloo Region 

Save the date for this celebratory Ball, co-sponsored by two Waterloo Region dance groups.

Kitchener-Waterloo Branch of the RSCDS was established in 1960;
Blair Scottish Country Dancers group was established in 1980. Add those legacies together and we can celebrate 100 years of dancing in Waterloo Region.

Come join us, and dance on a sprung wood floor at the Alpine Club in Kitchener to the Music of Don Bartlett & The Scottish Heirs.
