    Theme of the class: Dancing to the Marvels of Mervyn Short

    Level: Intermediate to advanced

  • Sunday, April 19 ~ First Scottish (Ladies) Step Dance Class with Alma Smith

    Scottish Step Dances (previously called Ladies Step Dances) are a ‘balletic” form of Highland dances, typically done by women. Read more about Step dancing here.

    Date of the first class: Sunday, April 19
    Time: 1:30 – 3:30pm

    Location: ‘The Talent Room’, Unit 12, 1100 Invicta Drive, Oakville (This is a dance studio with a large parking lot, conveniently located just off the QEW, east of Trafalgar Road).

    Cost: $10

    Class theme: The dance ‘The Rose of Benbecula’ will be taught. Also included will be basic highland steps used in Scottish Country Dancing, for example Glasgow Highlanders.

    You’re Invited to the 53rd Annual West Toronto Ball!
    Reception and delicious 4-course meal (see menu here). Full cash bar!
    Dances (popular and familiar) will be briefed and walked (see program here).
    Wonderful Live Music: Scotch & Soda and piper Ellen Mole!

    Location: Royal Canadian Legion, Port Credit, Branch 82 – 35 Front St N, Mississauga (spacious riverside banquet hall with wood floor). Free Parking ~ close to Port Credit Go Station

    Tickets:
    Early Bird Special (until April 11) ~ $135 (ages 35 and up); $130 (Youth ages 19-34)
    April 12-28: $140 for all ages.

  • Tuesday Evenings in June ~ Dancing in the Park at Edwards Gardens: 7pm to Dusk

    See you in June 2026 at Edwards Gardens!

    We dance on The Green, at Edwards Gardens, to wonderful live music by ‘Scotch & Soda’. All are invited — whether you are a dancer, or you’d like to be. There are many audience participation dances easy to do and enjoy.  brief video

    There is no fee, but a donation to cover the park permit and band would be appreciated.

    RAIN LOCATION: If rain threatens, dancing is switched to Glenview Presbyterian Church, 1 Glenview Ave (west of Yonge, 3 blocks south of Lawrence).
